A lot of people will say it's too late to start selling digital products on Etsy. However, in this blog post, I will prove to you that there is still a lot of unsaturated markets, high demand and opportunities available for new sellers on Etsy. Let's dive into the 8 categories that have a lot of potential! I found successful new shops in all of these categories, opening within the last 12 months!

1 - Pre-School Printables

Difficulty Level: 1/5

There's a growing trend of parents and educators looking for affordable ways to have more educational materials, so this is a great way to build scalable products that attract repeat customers as you continue to expand your offerings within that category.

For example, you can see the shop below is making over $4,000 a month for just one listing, and the listing age is only 2 months old! The shop itself is also 12 months old which just shows how profitable this niche is. You can create these digital downloads on Canva, which is super easy to learn for beginners.

2 - Business Trackers

Difficulty Level: 3/5

With the rise of entrepreneurship and small businesses, a lot of people will need different tools to help manage their business and make their work more efficient. This category is a bit harder to tap into as you will need to know how to use Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel. However, you can outsource this if you still want to be in this category without needing to know exactly how to build the products.

💡 To outsource your product creation, you can ask friends or family for help, or use freelance sites to help find the right people to build your products for you.

Using the EverBee analytics tool, you can see the listing below is only 2 months old and the estimated revenue is $9,000, which is incredibly profitable. The shop has also only been up for 11 months too, again showing the opportunity that still exists for selling digital downloads on Etsy.

3 - ReMarkable Digital Planners

Difficulty Level: 3/5

The ReMarkable tablet is essentially a digital notebook where you can write documents, read, and take notes. It’s popularity is increasing which means the demand for products in this niche is also increasing. You will need to learn how to use specific tools to create these digital planners though, which makes it slightly more difficult to create.

The listing below has only been up for 3 months and is making an estimated monthly revenue of over $5,000 for one listing with a shop age of 14 months. Hopefully this gives you the reassurance that it’s not too late to start!

💡 Tapping into subcategories rather than broad categories will increase your chances of succeeding as the competition rate is lower whilst there still being a high demand. You want to find these hidden niches which requires time in researching, but will be well worth it once you find them!

4 - Canva Frames

Difficulty Level: 2/5

There has been an increase in SVG digital products which a lot of people are finding success in, one of them being Canva frames. You will need to create different frames and do a bit more customization for the SVG, which requires a bit more work than some other Canva produced products.

What are Canva frames?

Canva frames allow you to drag and drop different patterns, colors or images into a specific shape, which you can then export and use however you like.

Can I sell Canva designs on Etsy?

You can sell Canva designs on Etsy as either a completed design or as a Canva template that the buyer can customize themselves. You cannot however, sell an already-made template from Canva, the design that you sell must be unique and made by you.

You can see this one listing below is generating over $8,000 revenue a month. The listing age is 16 months and the shop itself is 17 months old, so still a lot of opportunity here too to enter a profitable niche.

5 - Notion Social Media Planners

Notion is another trending productivity tool that people are using, so a great way to enter a subcategory is to create Notion templates. And with the growth of influencers, people need a place to organize everything related to that, and Notion social media planners are a great product to create.

You will need to learn how Notion works so it is a bit more difficult to create, but you can also look into other products that cater to influencers, such as intake forms, banners and ebook templates too.

The listing below has only been up for 5 months and is already making over $3,000 a month and the shop is only 6 months old, which is amazing and shows huge potential!

6 - Daycare Forms

Difficulty Level: 1/5

These templates are really easy to make and expand for a lot of different professions and industries. You can use Canva to create your listings, then expand your product line by simply changing the design, fonts or color palette.

Looking at this shop, the listing age is 10 months and the estimated revenue is $2,800 which is pretty good for one listing!

7 - Wedding Checklist

Difficulty Level: 1/5

The wedding space is constantly evolving so there's always a new opportunity to tap into this space. Since I’m getting married later this year, I've also become a customer of these products on Etsy and I actually gravitate more towards newer shops than established shops as they tend to have fresher designs and aesthetics.

So as a new Etsy seller, you can definitely offer something different as the aesthetics that are trending are always evolving. It can again be created on Canva and you can create multiple listings by changing the design, font or colors.

The listing below is making over $3,000 a month and the listing age is only 8 months too, so it’s never too late to jump into the wedding niche!

8 - Crochet Patterns

Difficulty Level: 4/5

There has been a huge rise in crochet recently, which means crochet patterns have also been growing in demand. It’s a difficult category to tap into as you definitely need to learn how to crochet or already know how to do it to be able to create the digital download.

💡 You can also partner with a friend or family member who knows how to create crochet patterns and work together with you focusing on the shop setup and management and them focusing on the product creation!

This listing below is generating $23,000 in revenue alone, which is quite crazy! It’s also only 4 months old, and the shop age is 7 months, which is just as crazy and really shows that selling digital products on Etsy is not too saturated at all.
